Michael Westaway is an experienced orthopedic physical therapist with 37 years in private practice. He holds a BSc from the University of Toronto (1984), a Physical Therapy degree from McMaster University (BHScPT – 1987), a master's degree from the University of Calgary (1993), and a Doctorate from Andrews University (DSc – 2005). He is a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMT), a past President of the Canadian Orthopractic Manipulative Therapy Association and a former Orthopedic Division Chair for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Dr. Westaway is actively involved in teaching at McMaster University and previously served as a clinical instructor at the University of Alberta. He is authorized to perform trigger point myofascial injections and prolotherapy. His research focuses on cervical spine treatment and biomechanics, with multiple peer-reviewed publications. He currently practices at Village Square Sport Physiotherapy Clinic, Springborough Clinic, and Performance & Rehabilitation Clinic. He is recognized as an orthopedic specialist by the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and serves as an expert witness for the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta.
