Dr. Dónal Finegan is a Royal College certified specialist in both Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology. He completed his medical degree at McGill University, where he enrolled in the combined MD/MBA program. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Calgary. Following this, he pursued a fellowship in Patient Safety & Quality Management at the University of Calgary. He then completed a subspecialty residency in Pain Medicine at the University of Calgary.
He specializes in fluoroscopic- and ultrasound-guided interventional pain procedures as part of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to pain management. His goal is to improve function and quality of life using evidence-based, patient-centred care.
Dr. Finegan is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Calgary, Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine. He is a practicing staff anesthesiologist, the Director of the Acute Pain Service at the Foothills Medical Centre, as well as a consultant for pain medicine physicians and interventionalists at the Calgary Chronic Pain Centre.
